Entertainment & Streaming CTV Advertising
For film releases, streaming services, live events and sports promotions
CS & Co. runs entertainment and streaming CTV for film releases, streaming services, live events and sports promotions. Entertainment is a date-driven category: a release, a premiere, an on-sale or a fight night. CTV should build demand before the date that matters, then prove whether exposure drives streaming sign-ups, ticket pre-sales and tune-in, market by market, at a cost per sign-up or ticket you can defend.

Why does entertainment and streaming CTV underperform?
Because entertainment campaigns get judged on reach and opening-week buzz, while the numbers that pay the bills, sign-ups, tickets and viewers, sit in subscriber, ticketing and ratings systems the media buy never connects to. The date passes, the report shows impressions, and nobody can say which sales the TV added.
Two things we find almost every time
- Flat spend against a hard date. The flight runs at an even pace instead of building into the premiere, the on-sale or the event night, so the heaviest weeks land after most tickets and sign-ups were already decided.
- Tune-in claimed, never tested. Viewership or attendance is credited to the campaign from a national total, with no held-back markets to compare against, so the lift can’t be separated from what the title, the talent or the league would have drawn anyway.
The measurement framework
What will your board ask about entertainment and streaming CTV?
CTV’s job in entertainment and streaming is to build demand before the date, then turn it into sign-ups, tickets and viewers. These four questions test whether it did, and what each sign-up or ticket cost.
1
Did the right household notice?
Brand signals, measured against a geo control
- Households reached in target markets
- Completed-view rate on the trailer or promo
- Title and event recall by market
- Title, talent and event search lift
2
Did it change what they did next?
Intent signals: behavior after exposure
- Title, trailer and event page sessions
- Free-trial and plan-page starts
- Ticket-page and seat-map sessions
- Pre-sale and waitlist sign-ups
3
Did it move the business?
Business outcomes, proven with The CS Method™
- Streaming sign-ups and paid subscriptions
- Ticket pre-sales and event tickets sold
- Tune-in and viewership, market by market
- Market-by-market incrementality test: sign-up, ticket and tune-in lift
4
What did each outcome cost?
Acquisition efficiency: cost per real result
- Cost per streaming sign-up
- Cost per paid subscriber
- Cost per ticket sold
- Cost per incremental viewer, where measurable

What proof does CS & Co. have in entertainment and streaming?
Want to see how we’d measure yours? We’ll walk you through our full test design on the call, and share references under NDA. The method is The CS Method™, the same one behind our health & wellness case study, where an incrementality test showed 41.4% more purchases among households that saw the ads.
Who produces the spots?
CS & Co. started as a production studio, and it still produces in-house. One working studio in Plainview, New York, holds the production stage, the post-production suite and the media operations team, with post-production in English and Spanish, so the spot, its versions and the buy are handled under one roof. Founder Cory Poccia produced at WWE before founding CS & Co. See campaign creative and the team.
Which rules apply to entertainment and streaming CTV ads?
There is no CTV-specific rule for entertainment, but a ticket price shown on screen must include mandatory fees under the FTC rule on unfair or deceptive fees, which covers live-event tickets, and free-trial and auto-renewing subscription offers must state their terms clearly under the FTC Act and the Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act. Trailer, league and talent footage also carries the rights holder’s own approval rules. Your legal team and the rights holder approve every cut.

Frequently asked questions
How do streaming services measure CTV?
By sign-ups and paid subscriptions, not views. CS & Co. matches households that saw the ads to free-trial starts and paid conversions in your subscriber system, uses one attribution window everywhere, and runs a market-by-market incrementality test to show how many subscribers CTV actually added.
Can CTV sell tickets for a live event or a sports promotion?
Yes, when the flight is built around the on-sale date and the markets that can actually attend. CS & Co. targets households within reach of the venue, weights spend into the pre-sale and the final week, and matches exposed households to ticket sales, compared with markets held back from the ads.
How do you measure tune-in from CTV?
Market by market. CS & Co. runs the campaign in some markets and holds comparable markets back, then compares viewership or streams in each group using your own platform data or the ratings you already buy. The difference is the tune-in CTV caused, not a share of a national total.
One way to start
What would a customer cost you on CTV?
Most CTV plans are DECAF. They spend, they report, and nobody can prove what they sold. CS & Co. plans, buys and measures your streaming TV against the number you're held to, proves what it caused with The CS Method™, and only earns past the plan fee when that number moves.
